We are committed to making the exchange experience in our district of great value, with much of learning and life growing.
Age. Your student must be at least 15.5 years old and not more than 18.5 years old on the first scheduled day of school.
Gender. We accept male and female students.
Graduation from high school. District 4510 prefers to host inbound students who have not graduated from high school but can accept a limited number who have graduated. That student must know that attending school, completing schoolwork, and participating in school activities are requirements of each exchange student.
Language Proficiency. Fluency in Portuguese is not required. However, all inbound students should do their best to learn as much Portuguese as possible before arrival.
Academic achievement. No specific minimum record of academic achievement applies.
Dietary Restrictions. We have no dietary restrictions for accepting inbounds. However, all dietary restrictions must be communicated using the application form.
Medical restrictions. Students must be in good physical and mental health with no recurring history of medical or psychological problems (e.g., recurring depression, anorexia, bulimia).
Other restrictions such as personal habits and appearance. Our District prohibits smoking, vaping, drinking of alcohol, using non-prescription drugs, receiving tattoos and obtaining body piercing while on exchange.
Arrival and departure dates.
Arrival. Your student should arrive in our district between July 15th and August 15th. If your district is located in Asia or Oceania, your student should arrive in our district between January 3rd and January 15th.
We will provide arrival dates after we have sent the Host Guarantee Form.
Departures. Your student must come to terms with the host family the best date for departure, right after the end of his or her classes. The host family is responsible for taking the inbound student to the airport.
