YEP District 4510

A unique exchange experience!

We are committed to making the exchange experience in our district of great value, with much of learning and life growing.

Come with us

Our district offers both LTEP and STEP students the possibility of fantastic trips to the most beautiful places in the world located within Brazil, as well as in our neighboring countries such as Peru and Paraguay. These are optional trips, but, with rare exceptions, everyone who comes to Brazil for our exchange program participates. Places like the interior of the Amazon, which has a rich diversity of flora and fauna and has beautiful, long rivers that cut through the forest. For those who want a closer contact with nature and better know the culture of the Brazilian people who live in this region, this tour is a must! In a single 15-day trip, the grand trip, students get to know the Amazon, Brasilia, which by the end of the 19th century Brazil had decided upon creating a new utopian capital city. Construction began in the 1950’s and was heavily influenced by the writing of the Italian monk, Don Bosco, who dreamed of a utopian capital city in the New World. The city officially became Brazil’s capital in the 1960s and was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Salvador da Bahia, which is another beautiful city on our coast that students have the opportunity to discover and enjoy, has an energy and unadorned beauty that few cities can match. Once Portugal's colonial capital, today Salvador is the pulsating heart of the country’s Afro-Brazilian community. Festivals happen frequently, with drum corps pounding out rhythms against the backdrop of historic buildings almost daily. The grand trip also takes students to the lush beaches of the state of Ceará. Ceará, a state in northeastern Brazil, has a mountainous interior and an Atlantic coastline with impressive red cliffs. The isolated city of Jericoacoara, surrounded by the dune-filled Jericoacoara National Park, is famous for its sandy streets, windsurfing and unusual sunsets in shades of green. We also offer other travel options to places like Rio de Janeiro, during carnival and Foz de Iguaçu.
